This made me laugh

Watford's theme for the club's Christmas party following their promotion to the Premiership this year was to go as something to do with the letter P. Defender Chris Powell won the top prize by turning up as England spinner Monty Panesar, while kit manager Bob Oteng went as Powell. (The People)

You have to love him don't you? I wonder how he'd have reacted in the dressing room to his teammates' passionless performances.

Although his best days were behind him even last season, releasing him in the summer and spending £2m on Djimi Traore was not one of Dowie's better decisions.

Chris Perry too would have been a major influence - no leaders in the dressing room is one of biggest problems, ignoring that we are simply crap.

I spent 2 weeks on holiday with Powell once and he is an unbelievable influence.

Totally agree with this, Chris Powell still timed his tackles beatitfully. What would he have cost for a 1 year extn to his contract? Also Chris Perry was another unsung/unglamorous defender would have cost little compared to Diawara (granted he is settling in-give him a chance) I heard he dosen't understand English-so that can't help communications inthe back line.

I was appalled by the decision to let Powell and Perry go, particularly when we then had an injury crisis and had no cover....

They wouldn't have been on big wages, why not keep them....

Big mistake by Dowie (one of many)
