Murphy: What REALLY Annoys Me

Murphy is now a Spurs player so to hell with him. But what really aggrieves me is that I'm down in Florida for a conference and as usual brought an old t-shirt in case I choose to go running at some point. Unfortunately the t-shirt I brought happens to be the one that says 'MURPHY - 13' on the back. I suspect very few of the locals will give much grief about it but it's the principle really.

Looks like I will have to go running in my suit.

NYA - Your response to the transfer is somewhat surprising to me.

I think that once he realised a big club was after his services it was inevitable that he would want to leave. After all playing in front of thousands of screaming freebie schoolkids was always going to wear him down in the end.

Tell the locals it's for an Irish potato firm or a Scouse building firm

You're right Stan, he will soon get pissed off playing in front of thousands of screaming school yids at the Lane paying 40 quid a pop.

Hey NYA - I'm in Florida next week on a conference (Boca Raton) so if I see some local with a Murphy t-shirt on I'll know where he got it from.

What you gonna sell it for? A deal worth up to $1??

Living on the hedge - that is only half the story as you well know

ps I didn't realise Charlton had an anti-semitic element.

Oi Chicago Addick - looks like i was spot on

"The one thing I said I always missed was that you go away and play in an way game and the following for Charlton is not as big, maybe it is half full at the away end, but to have four to five thousand fans travel everywhere you go is a big thing. I was used to that at Liverpool.

"It brings the best out of players. Of course Tottenham have that following and when it came up I don't mind admitting I was the first one to express to Charlton and the manager that I wanted to do it. Purely on football level anyone can see it's a fantastic opportunity."
